Sunday Weddings

In times past, weddings were often held on Sundays, because it was the only “day-off” for most people. Now, most weddings take place on Saturdays. Consequently, many popular reception facilities and wedding services are booked up to 18 months in advance.

Check first with your clergy or judge to see if she/he performs Sunday weddings. Then call reception facilities. Some restaurants and historic buildings are closed to the public on Sunday afternoons, hosting only private functions (nicely accomodating you and your guests). Your preferred photographer, videographer, and musicians are much more likely to have Sundays free. Check services to see if they have discounts for Sundays. Even if they do not, your choices are greatly enhanced. It’s especially smart to consider a Sunday wedding if your planning time is less than 4 months.
